Michael Jackson for me was one of the greats, so when he died earlier this year I'm not afraid to admit I was one of the many fans crying into my cereal bowl at the loss of such a legendary artist. So imagine my delight when I heard they were going to be screening the rehearsal footage from what would of been his final tour. I expected crowds of people at the cinema, hundreds of fans hoping to catch a glimpse of MJs final moments, but there was no one, the cinema was bare. Amidst wondering where everyone was I was very grateful that I had decided against wearing my 'I love MJ' Tshirt and my sparkly glove, as I think I would of got some very funny looks.
The film itself was well worth watching, all be it just to see how much work goes into creating these concerts. And although I feel for MJs family I also cant help but feel sad for the production team behind his tour, to have worked so incredibly hard on a project for so long, working tiredly to come up with ideas, and then overnight have it all grind to a halt and never see your work prevail into anything must be crushing. For this reason alone I am glad his family decided to release this footage as at least we all get to see a glimmer of the vast talent involved.
As for MJ, he was of course on top form and it reminded me what a fantastic artist he was. Someone pass me a tissue!
